Contrary to several popular smart home platforms such as Amazon's Alexa or Google Nest focusing more on remote control, we ASUKA implement "smart home" in a slightly different way. That is, in ASUKA, a smart home shall be an IoT platform in which a wall-mounted 10-in Smart Home Console installed in the living room acts as the local gateway, collecting data from distributed wireless sensors installed throughout the home — including smoke sensor, presence detection, temperature, and CO₂ sensors etc.
Sensor data is aggregated locally via short-range wireless tech such as BLE, ZigBee, and Z-Wave, processed locally for real-time alert, and then securely transmitted to the cloud via 4G LTE/5G.
