Home-grown or Commercial Linux: a Binary Choice? Vortragssprache Englisch

Since Linux is available in the open, freely, one question often asked is why would a development organization buy into a commercial Linux offering. It's customary to present this as a binary choice. But in the real world of the embedded developer, it’s becoming increasingly common for development teams to be both home-grown and commercial Linux users. And there’s one very good reason for this: the Yocto Project. This presentation will concisely and effectively motivate the audience why and when to use a commercial platform and when it's not the best solution. Examples of real-world scenarios and problems are given and evaluated from both perspectives, including both commercial and technical perspectives.
