An Open Reference Platform for AUTOSAR ADAPTIVE
OEMs will use AUTOSAR Adaptive to more flexibly integrate SW from multiple sources and become more independent form specific HW platforms and lower-level software stacks. At the same time, OEMs need to gain back control of the overall integration process, at least on the SW part, because the OEMs
- ultimately hold the integration responsibility in any multi-supplier setting
- must ensure two-way traceability and transparency (e.g. by taking ownership) for the full build process, incl. testing, issue reporting, and qualification for fail-operational
- should avoid competition between SW integrator, platform provider, semiconductor and FPGA vendors, and SW providers as it hinders exchange of relevant information and breaks the process
- might want to standardize, automate and high-speed-up processes to eventually enable continuous integration, because manual integration and testing has become extremely time-consuming
The introduction of new software frameworks in general and AUTOSAR Adaptive in particular provides the unique chance of making the paradigm shift towards more agile, flexible, collaborative ways of working in multi-supplier environments. When things are new and everyone is learning, reference platforms are needed to deploy new solutions faster and cheaper, without leaving everything to proprietary offerings.
Luxoft is committed to building such reference platforms for the two key areas of automotive high-performance computing: Cockpit/IVI (incl. informational ADAS) and Autonomous Driving. In our presentation, we will share where we are, what we have learned, and where we will go in the next years. We invite everyone to join us.
