Antenova Ltd, is showing at Embedded World a brand new pair of high performing 4G/LTE antennas: the Integra and the Inversa, both of which are suitable for PCBs as small as 60mm. The two antennas can also be used in 3G and MIMO applications.
The Integra antenna is for European and Asian markets, while Inversa is specifically designed for the USA market.
Both Integra and Inversa are available in left and right versions and are corner mounted to minimise PCB real estate requirements. They can be used singly or in pairs for MIMO. Both use beam steering to ensure good isolation and cross correlation and achieve high performance.
Integra, part numbers SR4L049-L/SR4L049-R measures 23.0 x 8.0 x 3.3mm and covers the bands 791-960 MHz, 1710-2170 MHz, 2300-2400 MHz and 2500-2600 MHz, used in Europe and Asia.
Inversa, part numbers SR4L034-L /SR4L034-R, measures 28.0 x 8.0 x 3.3mm and covers the USA bands 698-798 MHz, 824-960 MHz, 1710-2170 MHz, 2300-2400 MHz and 2500-2690MHz.
Antenova has designed these antennas for use in small trackers, OBDs and other similar devices where space is limited.
The first SMD antenna for LTE was Lucida, SR4L002. This antenna operates in LTE and mobile bands: LTE 700, GSM 850, GSM 900, DCS 1800, PCS 1900, WCDMA 2100, LTE B7 (2500 – 2690 MHz, LTE B40 (2300-2400 MHz), making it suitable for use in 4G MiFi routers, Femto/Pico base stations, portable devices, remote monitoring, network devices, and wearable devices. It is a small, ultra-low profile antenna, built to an innovative design, which enables it to maintain a high performance, less susceptible to de-tuning over a wide frequency range, and the MIMO requirements of the LTE spectrum, from its position embedded within a wireless device.
For designers who need a lower profile antenna, Antenova offers Similis, SR4C005, an extremely low profile antenna just 1.6mm high for very compact designs.
Alternatively, Antenova offers a group of flexible, FPC antennas for cellular applications.
Zhenghi is a flexible antenna operating at the 698-798MHz, 824-960MHz, 1710-2170MHz and 2500-2690MHz frequencies.
Mitis is a small flexible antennas operating at the higher frequency range 824-960MHz, 1710-2170MHz and 2500-2690MHz.
Finally, a pair of antennas for 3G and MIMO – Avia SRFC025 and a smaller alternative, Armata SRFC011.
The FPC antennas are very easy to integrate into a design – they can be folded and they have a self-adhesive strip to fix them in position within the case of a device.
