GE’s Outcome Optimizing Controllers, part of our Industrial Internet Control System portfolio, augment real-time deterministic control with embedded Field Agent technology, is delivering near real-time advice through market analysis, fleet and enterprise data, or asset/process knowledge to optimize the outcomes that today’s businesses require. The Predix enabled Outcome Optimizing Controllers provide reliable, secure communication and analytics using either cloud-based or edge-based outcome optimizing apps. Controls can now be programmed to dynamically influence business outcomes, generate new forms of revenue, and improve profitability. Technical features include:
- Real-time hypervisor: allowing the real-time deterministic operating system to co-exist in a safe manner with the field agent software stack running on general purpose OS, such as Linux, without one impacting the other. This is a break-through technology that enables the industrial control to tie more closely to business outcomes that customers want
