ProtoMat with laser tool
LPKF ProtoMats have acquired a firm place in many development laboratories worldwide. They are the key component for structuring near-series printed circuit boards without the use of etching chemicals. The circuit pattern is created by negative milling fully coated boards. In addition, these systems can, for example, drill holes or separate individual printed circuit boards from larger panels by contour milling.
The ProtoMat S103 is the premier ProtoMat system, with a 100,000 rpm high-performance spindle. It has more than 15 tool change positions for the software-controlled loading of mechanical tools, a camera-based vision system, a vacuum table and a pneumatic working depth limiter. The LPKF ProtoMat S103 ensures maximum precision and precise printed circuit board geometries – the high spindle speed provides a crucial advantage when producing delicate PADS layouts for highly integrated components, when working with sensitive materials, or for RF circuits.
Depending on the material, milled structures with a pitch of 200 µm (100 µm trace, 100 µm space) on FR4 (18 µm copper) are possible. The LPKF CircuitPro software included in the delivery automatically determines the optimal processing method from the imported layout data. It automatically carries out certain steps and guides the user easily through the entire manufacturing process.
