DATA MODUL showcases the first large and industrially usable display with cutting-edge transparent OLED technology.
The 55” device allows the display of dynamic content on a transparent surface glass opening up a wide variety of entirely new and innovative applications for industrial clients. It is absolutely perfect for applications meant to catch the eye such as PoS and PoI. The content is displayed on a transparent OLED module, while the user can at the same time see an object behind the device. Black or dark content on the screen is clear and white or bright content is opaque. Using this effect, products behind the display screen can be covered, explained and/or enhanced by the content shown.
The large screen transparent OLED is ideally suited as room installation, as a connection between object and user, in showcases, as window, in shop windows and to simply highlight products.
OLED is the abbreviation for Organic Light Emitting Diode. OLEDs are self-emitting and do not require an additional light source. In contrary to the common display technologies, the OLED technology eliminates the need for an enclosure and backlight. Moreover, compared to LC-displays, the lightweight OLED can be manufactured with a much lower depth.
The OLED‘s image reproduction is more even than that of LC-displays and the level of contrast is considerably higher. The display can be used in landscape as well as in portrait format.
The transparent OLED has a depth of only 1,6mm. To increase the robustness of the display device, DATA MODUL offers the option of optical bonding. The OLED module is optically bonded to a cover glass, which if requested, can also be fully customized. This process does not only ensure shock- and vibration resistance of the display module, but also further enhances the optical brilliance.
As a further option DATA MODUL’s clients can choose PCAP touch functionality by use of mash-up sensors. Due to the high-class bonding, integration in customized frame or enclosures is not required, but is possible.
Possible applications are: Large closets/wardrobes or refrigerators, POS/POI, display of content on glass panels, product vitrines, product presentations, show rooms, advertising in shop windows.
