Application of TPM2.0 in industrial and Automotive Systems Using the Feature API of the Open Source Software Stack
The Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (TPM 2.0) provides protection mechanisms to address threats for industrial and automotive systems. Developers who want to use the TPM 2.0 can make use of the latest Feature API specification of the TPM Software Stack (TSS) standards. The Feature API specification (FAPI) is a middleware software that is standardized and implemented as open source software. It reduces development efforts significantly for the integration on Linux and other embedded platforms, which enhances the adoption of TPM 2.0 in embedded systems. The FAPI standard provides enhanced features like automatic generation of key policies, key storage, provisioning and crypto-agility. The support of cryptographic profiles allows flexible configuration of the algorithms in order to enable interoperability between the systems. The presentation shows an overview of the latest FAPI standard and the TSS specification with use case examples of embedded and automotive systems.
