The OSD3358-SM-RED is the Reference, Evaluation, and Development board for the OSD335x-SM family of System-In-Package devices. It is designed by Octavo Systems to allow users to quickly evaluate the OSD335x-SM SiP for their application. All the design files are freely available and can be used as a known good starting point for new designs. It also features a pair of expansion headers allowing it to be used as a simple prototyping platform.
The OSD3358-SM-RED platform features the Octavo Systems OSD335x-SM, part of the OSD335x family of devices. The OSD335x-SM integrates a powerful 1GHz Texas Instruments Sitara AM335x processor, DDR3 Memory, 2 power supplies, and passives into a single easy to use package. The 256 Ball BGA is 60% smaller than an equivalent design using discrete devices, making it the smallest ARM Cortex-A8 system implementation. The integration also greatly simplifies the design time and eases the path to production by removing tedious interconnects and reducing the number of components.
The OSD3358-SM-RED platform comes pre-loaded with a Debian Linux distribution complete with driver libraries for the different sensors on the board.

Octavo Systems is a leading provider of System-In-Package (SiP) solutions. Octavo provides a standard offering incorporating Texas Instruments based ARM Cortex-A processors, making it easy for electronics designers to innovate and build small, cost effective embedded Linux systems.
At Octavo we leverage SiP technology to integrate over 100 individual components, including power management and high speed memory into a single IC package. This integration means designers no longer have to spend time on tedious tasks that add little value to their system. Instead they can spend more time on the phases that will truly different the product and get it to market faster. Octavo Systems’ mission is to bring these capabilities to the masses.
Integration through System-In-Package can also simplify your supply chain, reduce manufacturing costs, and increase the system's reliability.
We look forward to seeing you at the show. If you would like to set up a time to meet, please contact us at http://octavosystems.com/contact/
