Virtualizer Development Kits (VDKs) are software development kits containing microcontrollers and system-on-chip virtual prototypes, debug and analysis tools and sample software to accelerate software and system development, integration and test.
Synopsys supports a wide range of VDKs targeting semiconductor specific processors, including:
• VDK Family for ARM® Cortex™ Processors with support for ARM's big.LITTLE™ processing and ARMv7 and ARMv8-based designs
• VDK supporting the NXP S32 platform
• VDK supporting the Renesas RH850 Family
• VDK supporting the NXP MPC5xxx family
• VDK supporting the Infineon AURIX1G and AURIX2G family
In addition, Synopsys collaborates with a wide variety of leading semiconductor companies who develop their own VDKs for internal and customer deployment.
In automotive, VDKs can be combined to create Virtual Hardware ECUs, enabling automotive semiconductor, Tier 1 and OEM companies to start software development earlier and improve testing throughput in support of system integration and test, fault and coverage testing, and regression testing. Tier 1 and OEMs rely on Synopsys virtual system integration expertise to quickly develop and deploy virtual hardware ECUs.
