TRS-STAR was founded in 2006 by Manfred Schwarztrauber as a one of the companies within the MSC Group. Manfred Schwarztrauber is one of the pioneers of semiconductor distribution in Europe and CEO and Trusted Advisor of TRS-STAR. Following the sale of the MSC Group to Avnet in 2014 TRS-STAR continues its activities as part of a financially strong holding.

The company focuses on semiconductor and electronic system suppliers with high growth potential, thatwere able to deliver during the last allocation phase. The main areas of focus are FPGAs and power components, as well as displays and IPCs. The latter are assembled and tested in Stutensee according to customer specifications.

In addition to the sale of electronic components and systems, TRS-STAR has established itself with the brandst.interieur and t.exterieur, in the field of professional interior and exterior lighting for municipal and industrial applications. Under the slogan „whoever finds us, did well finding us“ the assembly line in Frankenthal produces energy-saving lighting solutions for outdoor areas. For instance historical street lamps or bridge lighting based on modernCOB (chip-on-board) technology.
