Positive lock (active lock) connectors is an essential feature for applications that requires secure mating, low insertion force, high retention force, and can prevent accidental disconnection when in use. Positive lock design also provides an audible click once connector is correctly mated, allowing the assembler to have both a visual (lock in place) and audible feedback that the connector is seated in place during assembly.
