Quantum Computers Just Broke My Crypto – What Now?
Security a constant challenge, as it just keeps changing. New threats and vulnerabilities are being found weekly and as such our systems need to adapt and stay up to date. It is quite probable that a device that is considered secure and state-of-the-art today could become vulnerable to a new attack tomorrow, next year or next decade. With your device being out in the field for all this time, how can we take a long-term view about security? How do we design in flexibility such that we can cope with changes in cryptography without over-burdening the CPU and having to drop features? In this presentation, Kris Chaplin will introduce techniques to give your embedded system breathing space - so when the inevitable crypto vulnerability happens, you still have a product that can be secured whilst in the field.
