MVTec HALCON Deep Learning for Embedded Devices
The newest version of HALCON – HALCON 19.11 – includes many new and improved functions that advance the level of machine vision technology available to OEMs, integrators, and end-users worldwide. For example, HALCON now offers a seamlessly integrated, comprehensive set of deep learning functions not only for classification, semantic segmentation, and object detection, but also for anomaly detection. HALCON’s anomaly detection allows deep-learning-based inspection tasks to be implemented more efficiently, since only a few images of defect-free objects are required to train the underlying deep learning network. In embedded automation environments, deep learning serves as a key technology to easily deploy machine vision solutions. Beyond the easy deployment of machine vision solutions, MVTec HALCON offers maximum of connectivity to control the flow of data, which concerns image acquisition as well as I/O. MVTec HALCON provides standardized as well as dedicated interfaces, which offer great flexibility for configuring and/or programming embedded vision applications. HALCON interfaces can also be used to acquire and process images, e.g., from MIPI CSI-2 (Mobile Industry Processor Interface). This paves the way for the application in entirely new business areas beyond industrial machine vision. Such areas include medical technology, agriculture, as well as the logistics and retail sectors.
