Hard- and Software for Embedded Machine Vision
CVB Embedded supports 32bit and 64bit ARM based systems. It offers acquisition for GenICam compliant cameras such as USB3-Vision and GigE-Vision, image processing tools, GigE-Vision compliant image output and OPC-UA support. The presentation gives an overview of the different components as well as the recommended toolchain to migrate existing applications from a traditional Windows PC to an embedded platform. As a contributing member of the USB3-Vision, GigE-Vision and GenICam standard groups STEMMER IMAGING provides a reliable and fast acquisition of cameras using these standards. Beside a wide range of standard operators, the CVB Minos tool can be used for fast object detection and OCR with up to 24000 characters per second. CVB ShapeFinder can be used to detect the location, orientation and scaling of objects with a high accuracy of 1/40 pixel or 1/10 of a degree. Using the CVB GigE-Vision Server tool an application can output processed images according to the GigE-Vision standard. It also allows the definition of custom defined ?camera? features that can be used to configure a processing or the device and to output processing results. The tool has been certified by the GigE-Vision working group which helps the user to certify his own products based on CVB Embedded. To connect an embedded machine vision system to the factory floor CVB Embedded supports OPC-UA as a client and server implementation. STEMMER IMAGING is also a member of the OPC-UA Vision standardization group hosted by the VDMA and will support these standard once it has been released. With a wide range of supported hardware in combination with machine vision standards CVB Embedded makes it easy to develop applications which take advantage of the strength of embedded systems.
