FoundriesFactory - making IoT & Edge devices more secure from prototype to production and beyond. Vortragssprache Englisch

The days of building monolithic embedded Linux systems are coming to an end. Security vulnerabilities, both in software and hardware are driving the embedded industry to adopt new ways to develop these systems. The shift is towards microservices in the cloud. The IoT/Edge computing approaches have brought the cloud and embedded devices closer together. This migration has influenced new requirements on how these systems are developed, deployed and maintained. There is an expectation that the operating system is managed like cloud systems and the applications are independent from one another. Our solution to these challenges is the FoundriesFactory - a turn-key cloud service to enable you to develop, secure, deploy and maintain your embedded IoT device for its entire active lifetime. FoundriesFactory enables you to customize and update every aspect of your embedded Linux system. As a user you can create your own FoundriesFactory which are your private secure spaces to develop customized embedded Linux and applications. Within the Factory you can handle all your development, incorporating your differentiation and IP whilst benefiting from customized CI and testing infrastructures; OTA updating ability and the ability to easily interface with the cloud of your choice. In this presentation you will find out more on the following areas * The customization options available when setting up your Factory - including hardware, cloud and how to integrate your own IP * How the CI and test infrastructure is utilized to ensure you have control over your software and kept up to date * How security vulnerabilities are monitored and how they can be integrated into your latest software builds. Showing how with FoundriesFactory you get secure development, deployment and maintenance * Updating ability approach - how you can update your kernel, OS and/or apps * How you can securely incorporate DockerApps to manage your apps * Adopting different Factory Device Provisioning
