Bluetooth is one of the most ubiquitous wireless communications technologies on the planet and in 2018, over 10 million Bluetooth devices shipped every single day. One of the secrets of Bluetooth’s success is its on-going and systematically directed evolution. Bluetooth 5 doubled the data transmission speed and quadrupled range to potentially more than a kilometre. Bluetooth mesh was released in the summer of 2017 and is enabling truly smart buildings to be built and lighting to become a platform for distributed applications. So what’s next for Bluetooth? Come to this session to be briefed on the technical details of the newest capabilities of this key enabler of the IoT, Bluetooth.
