The iM871A wireless M-Bus module provides a cost-effective RF solution for intelligent metering applications connecting water, heat, electricity and gas meters with data concentrators in the 868 MHz frequency band. The module supports all common unidirectional and bidirectional wireless M-Bus modes (S1, S2, T1, T2 and R2) as well as all tolerance specifications. With a power transmission balance of up to 120 dB in R2 mode, the iM871A is specifically designed to meet radio communication requirements in challenging environments within residential and commercial buildings. With its various ultra-energy-saving sleep modes (e.g. deep sleep < 50 nA), the iM871A is ideal for applications requiring long battery life.

The Starter Kit is an easy-to-implement solution for learning the functions and capabilities of the iM871A wireless M-Bus radio module. The kit contains two demo boards and two radio modules which are soldered on special adapter boards. The modules are already pre-programmed with the wireless M-Bus firmware.

The wireless M-Bus Analyzer supports the monitoring and analysis of wireless M-Bus traffic according to EN 13757-4.
This tool provides a user-friendly graphical interface for quick troubleshooting and maintenance of your wireless M-Bus network. Packet reception and package visualization for many wireless M-Bus configurations can be managed with a few mouse clicks together with the PA-iM871A, a wireless M-Bus USB adapter. The Analyzer supports single and dual radio modes for parallel monitoring of uplink and downlink channels with different physical settings. In addition, AES-128-bit encrypted packets can be analyzed with the supported decryption. Flexible packet filtering and data visualization allow easy and efficient troubleshooting and verification of complex wireless network configurations. Radio traffic monitoring for verifying the operating cycle completes the range of supported functions with regard to the ETSI Directives.
