The SX proFRAME system is a modular grabbing solution for video and other data. The core of the 2.0 system is a PCIe board for use in standard PC systems, which is now also available in a housing with a Thunderbolt interface for easy connection to laptops. The just completed third generation of the board – the SX proFRAME Base Board 3.0 – with a Zynq® UltraScale+™ ZU4 MPSoC and 2 GB of DDR4 memory achieves a four times higher data rate of 6,4 GByte/s, offers even more interfaces and is available in the industrial CompactPCI Serial format for the first time.
The first camera adapter available for the SX proFRAME 3.0, the SX camAD3 DUAL MAX9296A, is equipped with two Maxim MAX9296A GMSL2 deserializers. Models with GMSL2 serializers and adapters for future camera generations with GMSL3 components by Maxim and the upcoming FPD-Link IV components by Texas Instruments are currently in the works.
Depending on the application, the new SX proFRAME 3.0 can record up to four camera image data streams, simultaneously forward them to an ECU or play them back. Our extraordinarily broad spectrum of camera adapters enables, depending on the Base Board, the connection of a multitude of (camera) sensors via interfaces like FPD-Link III and IV, GMSL2 and 3, CoaXPress or others. When dealing with video data, simultaneous real-time processing through FPGA-based imaging modules is possible, building on the extensive Solectrix know-how in the digital imaging field.
The SX proFRAME system comprises electronics and software components. Typically it consists of a Base Board, camera-specific adapters and the respective Solectrix software including a customer-specific application. It was designed for the use in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems, e.g., for the development, diagnostics and validation of advanced driver assistance systems prototype systems like surround or stereoscopic camera systems.
