Systems with embedded FPGA components are the future. Their flexibility regarding processing performance and available I/Os is a benefit for all complex projects. Combining this versatility with a standard form factor is the key to easy implementation. This is why our embedded electronics experts support the Smart Mobility ARChitecture Standard (SMARC™) of the SGET e.V., short for „Standardization Group for Embedded Technologies“.
Our modules SXoM MS1-C5, SXoM MS2-K7 and the new SXoM MS2-ZU are compliant with the SMARC™ 1.1 or 2.0 standard and are suited for use in a multitude of projects. The SXoM MS1-C5 is used, among others, for pedestrian detection in advanced driver assistance systems. The even more powerful SXoM MS2-K7 is perfectly suited for the processing of 4K video data. This March, Solectrix will release the SXoM MS2-ZU, another high-performance module with a scalable Xilinx UltraScale+ MPSoC series FPGA with up to 350,000 logic cells, multiple ARM CPUs and a wide memory bus which can will be used for applications like real-time communication, image processing and algorithmics.
Our SXoMs are available with different SoC (System-on-a-Chip) components at their core. This way you can choose exactly the system-on-module that best fits your project requirements. The technical data of the FPGA component ranges from 25K logic cells and 36 DSP blocks in the smallest SXoM MS1-C5 up to 350K logic cells and 1728 DSP blocks in the most powerful SXoM MS2-ZU. All three are equipped with an ARM-based hard processor system, with the SXoM MS2-ZU also featuring another ARM CPU for real-time functions (RPU, Real-Time Processing Unit) and – depending on the chosen SoC component – an additional GPU.
2020 sees a new addition to the Solectrix portfolio with the reworked SXoM CBS2 eNUC 1, a SMARC 2.0 carrier board for CPU and FPGA modules that is compliant with the embedded NUC standard and equipped with an M.2 slot for mass storage or communication modules. For customer applications like the control of decentralized communication networks, an FMC slot for the respective expansion modules is available. Solectrix also offers a matching 500W power supply module (supply voltage 270 VDC typ.) in the form of the SXoM EDC eNUC 1. Both eNUC modules are compatible with the ARINC 836A (miniMRP) form factor.
Embedded NUC™ specifies a new industrial standard for small form-factor PCs inspired by the Intel® NUC systems (NUC: Next Unitof Computing) used in consumer products. By adapting the Intel® NUC for industrial applications, a wide range of PC functions in an extremely slim format (ca. 10cm x 10cm) can be realized. With its PC power the embedded NUC™ presents a highly attractive solution for industrial applications targeting a wide range of appliances while providing numerous interfaces in a compact format.
