The TenAsys eVM® for Windows® virtualization manager platform provides a virtual machine environment that hosts your real-time and embedded operating system alongside with Microsoft® Windows® on the same platform.
eVM® for Windows® preserves the real-time capabilities of your guest operating system in comparison to typical enterprise virtualization managers.
It also provides efficient communication channels between your embedded and Windows applications by standard socket and serial interfaces.
eVM® for Windows® makes use of the more and more available hardware supported virtualization techniques in the Intel processor line (VT) to achieve all of these goals. Your platform need to have VT-x at least but ideally VT-d for best level of compatibility especially for use of DMA bus mastering modes.
TenAsys targets primarily guest OS operation under Windows with Windriver's VxWorks®, QNX® Neutrino®, WinCE® and real-time Linux derivatives. Moreover there is also proposed use with Standard-Linux distributions in order to host for example security applications as demonstrated by the use of Innominate's mGuard. Here is eVM's system partitioning capability the key to best secure the Windows system environment.
eVM for Windows supports 32-bit and 64-bit Windows.
