Sontheim Industrie Elektronik GmbH presents the next generation of ECUs for future-oriented IoT applications - the telemetry module series COMhawk xt. The connectivity ECUs are state-of-the-art in telemetry and are ready for predictive maintenance applications.
With the modular COMhawk xt series, the latest modules of the COMhawk family are now available. The modules have been especially developed for 24/7 use in mobile machines, taking into account external environmental factors. The IP69K housing offers an extensive protection against water jets, salt and fog and the system is CE and FCC certified. Various interfaces and a multi-protocol support ensures a wide range of applications and the connection of various systems. In addition to two CAN interfaces according to DIN ISO 11898 (optionally up to four CAN interfaces), the module offers a standard Wi-Fi interface and an Ethernet connection, optional Bluetooth, as well as a digital input. In addition, the COMhawk xt series is equipped with a 4G communication (including 2G / 3G fallback) and is 5G ready. For a global position determination, a GNSS receiver is integrated, which uses GPS, GLONASS, Beidou or QZSS to precisely determine the position of the connectivity ECU.
Over MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) the data can be quickly and easily integrated into an existing cloud or infrastructure, or directly to the Sontheim IoT Device Managerand IoT Analytics Manager. Via a secured communication path (TLS certification) and a clear ID assignment, the data can be visualized, managed and individually be displayed in various dashboards. In addition, as with all modules of the COMhawk series, the data can be recorded on an internal storage volume of up to 64GB.
Use the Connectivity-ECU as a central diagnostic gateway in combination with the modular diagnostic tool MDT 2.0 and the Lifecycle Manager CLCM 2.0.. Based on the ISO standards ODX and OTX, you are able to perform an embedded diagnostics of your machine directly on the telemetry unit. The high-performance Cortex A9 (single / dual core) processor offers enough performance in every respect, even for compute-intensive applications. Thus, service applications are possible on-the-fly and it does not necessarily have to be a service mechanical at the machine, to diagnose and fix an error. An integrated upload and IoT Device Management enables software updates over-the-air and thus remote troubleshooting and diagnostics. At any time, you have a comfortable overview of your units in the field, for an efficient fleet management. With the help of ODX and OTX data and the possibility of an embedded diagnostics on the telemetry unit, the module already provides the basis for predictive maintenance analyzes and condition monitoring.
