The SIC8630 is an ultra-low power ISM RF Transceiver. It is equipped with a low power wake-up receiver that allows the wireless unit to stay in a low power mode whilst waiting for the RF link initiation. It provides the optimal solution for customers with extremely low power wireless network requirements.
The low power wake-up receiver periodically monitors a specified RF band. If there is an RF wake-up signal, the SIC8630 will wake the microcontroller unit up via the IRQ port. This allows the microcontroller unit to stay in the lowest possible power mode. With a unique receiver design and low duty cycle operation, the SIC8630 consumes less than 2uA with a sniffing interval of 1s.
The SIC8630 uses the Sub-Giga-Hertz band for optimum RF link budget. The SIC8630 is designed for optimum short-range communication (Rx-sensitivity: -65dBm, 5-10m, with Reader Tx-power of 10dBm). It contains a highly integrated Analog/RF front-ended circuit and data packet handler, hence only a few external components are required.
