The DC/DC converters offered to date by Mornsun in the SIP-8 housing have a respective output power of 1W (WR_S-1WR2 series) and 3W (WR_S-3WR2 series). Now the Chinese manufacturer has considerably increased the power density of these converters with the new R3 versions. The URB_S-6WR3 and VRB_S-6WR3 series reach an output power of up to 6W and also offer a 4:1 wide-range input for the input voltage for the first time in this housing class.
Installed in a SIP-8 housing with dimensions of just 22 x 9.5 x 12 mm, the converters depending on the model are designed for nominal input voltages of 24V or 12V. The 4:1 or 2:1 input range of the 24V versions supports input voltages of 9V to 36V or 18V to 36V. The input voltage of the 12V component equipped with a 2:1 input range can be between 9V and 18V. All versions are available with a choice of 3.3V, 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V or 24V output voltage.
With an isolation voltage of 1,600 VDC, additional protection mechanisms against undervoltage, short-circuit and overcurrent, a power loss of only 0.12W while idling and an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C, the EN 62368-compliant DC/DC converters in the URB_S-6WR3 and VRB_S-6WR3 series are suitable for numerous applications in the fields of industrial electronics, measurement, feedback and control engineering, communication technology and low-voltage supply networks.
