Innovation based on agile series development
Solectrix, along with MEKRA Lang, is helping shape the future of indirect sight for utility vehicles through mirror replacement systems. The camera monitor system offers several advantages over common truck rear-view mirrors:
- It lowers cost and saves the environment. Because the use of small, flow-optimized camera arms instead of the large-format truck rear-view mirrors lowers fuel consumption and thus also pollutant emissions.
- Particularly at nighttime and with incident sunlight, it offers better sight and improves traffic safety. This is made possible through the use of high dynamic range (HDR) technology in image acquisition and processing.
- It provides a base for future driver assistance systems like, e.g., turning assistant.
As a cooperation partner we provide the central image processing software which processes the data read out from the HDR sensors at 60 frames per second with a very low latency.
In project management and software development, Solectrix relies entirely on agile methods. The iterative approach on all levels enables us to manage the balancing act between the adherence to automotive norms like, e.g., ASPICE and ISO 26262, and the greatest possible flexibility regarding changing customer requirements. The prototyping of image processing algorithms is done within a specially developed reference tool which also serves as the base for verification in series development.
