19“ server for use in the automotive area
b-plus provides the 19 inch dual-cpu server “DATALynx ATX3” for high-performance computing and prototyping such as in-Vehicle algorithm development. A highperformance automotive Power Supply with integrated short-time UPS in combination with liquid cooled Intel® Xeon® E5 server processors allows High-End CPU and Graphics Performance operating in automotive environments up to 60°C ambient temperature.
Up to 7 PCIe extension slots enable a wide range of I/O interface cards or high speed Data recording with NVMe based Solid State Drives. The optional b-plus IEEE 802.1AS extension enables time synchronization in a cluster of several systems. Remote management via IPMI 2.0 enables headless system control.
The system is based on a Supermicro Dual Socket Server motherboard for Intel® Socket 2011-3 processors of the Broadwell EP (Xeon® E5-2600 v4) family. Other industrial components such as main memory, internal SSDs or Geforce graphic cards provide consistently high performance over the whole temperature range. Internal SATA RAID configurations or additional high-speed NVMe SSDs based on PCIe enable high-speed data recording at the highest level. With 7 PCIe expansion slots with a total of up to 64 PCIe 3.0 lanes, any extensions for I/O intensive applications (vehicle bus, Ethernet,...), or graphics cards of any kind (NVIDIA Geforce/Quadro/Tesla, AMD Radeon/FirePRO) for GPGPU computing, e. g. for algorithm development or simulations, can be used.
The basic system with up to 10 internal 2.5" drives and a 5.25" bay for removable racks or optical drives can be extended with the DATALynx ATX3 5.25" Storage Add-On. This setup with an additional 1.5U offers two additional 5.25" drive bays, which allows up to 10 SATA and 8 SATA/SAS drives to be operated. The system can use 2 different motherboards with 4x GBLAN and 6 PCIe slots or 2x GBLAN and 7 PCIe slots.
A 1000W DC power supply in combination with a µC-based b-plus UPS2 solution including terminal 15 / Ignition support up to 850W for direct vehicle use and alternatively standard 230V ATX power supplies allow an extremely flexible application scenario.
