We combine embedded with HPC, allowing new solutions. The application areas are very diverse. Two examples:
- Visual support in commercial areas can give insights on how shoppers behave, but privacy laws forbid to process all data centrally. By processing all data on the camera-processor, privacy-problems can be avoided while the answers are still given.
- Portable medical devices are often the answer to make the doctor's job easier. We optimise the algorithms and use embedded GPUs to remove the limitations that current such devices have, allowing these to be fully battery-operated and fast. We have had situations the portable device outperformed the PC-version.
