How reliable are AMT Medical Touch Panels?
By comparing the display units, you can see the advantages of various surface treatments such as anti-glare and anti-smudge. In addition, there are two main concerns when using PCAP technology in medical devices.. One, external noise interference affecting touch panel performance and, two, liquids and gels on the touch surface causing false touch signals.
PenMount controllers have passed IEC 60601-1-2 Ver. 4 EMC certification for medical devices. We performed testing from 385MHz, 870MHz, to a maximum of 5785MHz and 28V. PenMount controller hardware includes a signal filter which, paired with our frequency hopping algorithms, allows normal operation of AMT PCAP touch solutions in the noisiest of environments.
We also provide two water handling modes: Water Performance (WP) and Water Detection (WD). In WP mode, areas containing liquid or gel will not generate false touch signals and single-point operation is available in dry areas. Functionality returns to normal after the panel is dried. In WD mode, touch operation is suspended when there is liquid or gel on the touch surface. Functionality returns to normal after the panel is dried.
