Toposens has developed 3D Ultrasound Sensor Vision that uses sound to support robust, low-cost and precise near-field 3D vision for emerging technologies, such as autonomous driving, robotics and smart buildings. Unlike existing sensor technologies that can be negatively impacted by light conditions, reflections, and weather, Toposens sensors use echolocation to generate robust, real-time 3D point clouds to guide autonomous systems across a variety of applications, even in the most difficult environments. After the launch of the sensor unit TS ALPHA in 2018, Toposens now released the Automotive DevKit which enables autonomous vehicles to "see with sound". Current projects, such as the development of an intelligent smart speaker for close range detection accentuate the importance of Toposens sensor units for the field of consumer electronics.
The startup's headquater is based in Munich with a side office in the Silicon Valley and was founded in 2015 by Alexander Rudoy, Rinaldo Persichini and Tobias Bahnemann.
