The K78xxT-500R3 and K78xxT-1000R3 series switching regulators without potential separation are compatible with the corresponding LM78xx components and also highly efficient. They are especially well suited for assembly using reflow soldering.
With a soldering temperature up to 245℃ and temperature resistance up to 60 seconds at temperatures over 217°C, the regulators with dimensions of just 15.24 x 11.4 x 8.25 mm are fully compliant with the PC/JEDEC J-STD-020D.1 standard. These components with high quality workmanship also set themselves apart with an especially high efficiency of more than 95%, which they achieve without additional cooling in the operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Both series include three 12V versions for the output voltages of 1.5V, 1.8V and 2.5V, and five 24V versions for the output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 6.5V, 9V and 12V. The K78xxT-500R3 series also includes a 24V version for the output voltage of 15V. The output current can reach 500mA or 1000mA.
With a trimmable output voltage (± 10%), a remote voltage control function and a low idle current of typically 0.2mA, the new K78T-500R3 and K78T-1000R3 regulators can be used in numerous industrial electronics applications as well as measuring and control technology. The SMD switching regulators equipped with continuous short-circuit protection on the output side are UL62368 and EN62368-compliant. IEC62368 approval is in progress.
