SATA NANDrive™ embedded SSDs
The SATA NANDrive™ family of embedded solid state drives (SSDs) integrate Greenliant’s industrial grade Serial ATA controller with one or more NAND flash die in a small, multi-chip package.
SATA NANDrive provides the functionality and compatibility of a complete SATA hard disk drive (HDD) in a 14mm x 24mm ball grid array (BGA) package for easy, space saving mounting to a system motherboard. These products surpass traditional storage in their small size, security, reliability, ruggedness and low power consumption.
Compatible with the latest generation chipsets, SATA NANDrive is available in commercial and industrial temperatures. SATA NANDrive has the same pin-out in a 145-ball BGA, 1mm ball pitch package, giving customers flexibility and simplifying board design.
Industrial temperature (-40 to +85 degrees Celsius) SATA NANDrive is offered with 2-bits-per-cell (MLC) or 1-bit-per-cell (SLC) NAND to meet varying customer requirements for lifespan, endurance and performance. Greenliant’s SLC NAND-based, industrial grade NANDrive products offer 10x the lifetime compared to typical MLC NAND SSDs and are qualified for the most demanding applications.
SATA NANDrive is ideal for portable and industrial computers, set-top boxes, multi-functional printers, point-of-sales terminals, video and audio recorders, medical instruments and car infotainment systems.
NANDrive eliminates the need for long qualification cycles when there is a change of NAND flash technology; customers need only qualify the NANDrive as a mass storage subsystem.
The integrated NAND flash controller with built-in advanced NAND management firmware communicates with the host through the standard SATA protocol. It does not require any additional or proprietary software such as the Flash File System (FFS) and Memory Technology Driver (MTD).
NANDrive’s advanced NAND management technology enhances data security, improves endurance and accurately tracks the usage of the NAND flash. This innovative technology combines robust error correction capabilities with advanced wear-leveling algorithms and bad block management to extend the life of the product.
The enhanced features and small form factor of NANDrive give ultimate flexibility for data storage design—no extra connectors are needed. NANDrive is ideal for embedded applications that require secure, reliable and energy-efficient data storage.
GLS85LS SATA NANDrive products are available from 2 GByte to 64 GByte (128 GByte and 256 GByte planned).
