At the embedded world 2018 OFFIS, as Lower Saxony's ICT centre for industry 4.0 (IKIMUNI), will be presenting a demonstration of the reference platform "Industrial Control 4.0".
Using the IEC standard 61499, a model of a typical production task is controlled more flexibly and dynamically than in traditional control technology. The seamless interaction of hardware from different manufacturers, which is only made possible by the IEC standard, deserves special mention.
With regard to modern production organisation, the plant also demonstrates its ability to adapt to changes in the means of production. These could be additional workstations, for example, which are temporarily set up due to seasonal requirements. Another frequently encountered scenario is the re-arrangement of individual plant components, ideally even without interrupting production.
The Lower Saxony ICT Centre for Industry 4.0 IKIMUNI is the point of contact and advisor for small and medium-sized enterprises for all questions concerning information and communication technology. From consulting, advanced training and research cooperations to individual prototype development, you will find a wide range of services to make the potentials of digitalization available for your company.
