SafeTRANS coordinates the processes for the roadmap „Eingebettete Systeme in der Automobilindustrie 2015 – 2030“, which was published in 2015 in collaboration with the GI (‚Gesellschaft für Informatik‘) and the VDA (‚Verband der Automobilindustrie‘).
The aim is to achieve a harmonised picture between OEMs and suppliers of current and future challenges and developments in the area of embedded systems in the automotive industry with a focus on highly automated and autonomous systems. The document serves as basis for future coordinated actions by all stakeholders, e.g., in joint projects or in-house discussions.
The first part of the roadmap describes the current changes, trends and developments in society, in the market and the automotive industry. Further, based on future scenarios capabilities (which the embedded systems must have to realize the functions presented in the scenarios) and skills (which the engineers and developers as well as their tools must have to develop appropriate Embedded Systems, to test and to produce them, etc.) are derived. In addition, for each scenario threats and ‘disablers’ are identified.
At the end, recommendations for implementation are finalizing the document
A roadmap on the topic of Safety, Testing and Development Processes for Highly Automated Systems is in preparation and will be published in Summer 2016.
In 2009 SafeTRANS moderated National Roadmap Embedded Systems (NRMES) in coordination with the BMBF.
At the European level, SafeTRANS is a founding member of EICOSE (European Institute for Complex Safety Critical and Embedded Systems Engineering). Within EICOSE, SafeTRANS contributes to strategies of key European funding instruments, namely ECSEL MASRIA, ITEA 3, Horizon 2020). Regular meetings of experts of German and European companies and research institutes take place.
