iLCDs with Projected Capacitive Touch Screen for Rugged Environments
The 5.0", 5.7" and 7.0" iLCDs now are available with projected capacitive touch (PCAP) technology making them robust for operation outdoors and where vandal-proof designs are necessary. They are typically applied as user interfaces in factories, in the public space and in medical devices.
The iLCDs DPP-C50, DPP-C57 and DPP-C70 with capacitive touch screen support multi-touch operation. Configuration parameters allow activation of up to five simultaneous touch points. Detected finger movements on the screen are reported to the device’s interpreting application.
The capacitive iLCDs can be incorporated like those with resistive touch screen, installation behind glass of up to 4 mm thickness is possible, too. Such “cover glass” increases protection against damage and can lend itself to a decorative application design as well. Adjustable touchpanel parameters take into consideration the individual mounting conditions. As such, demmel products facilitates the integration of iLCDs regardless of application.
Optionally, demmel products offers optical bonding of the display components leading to an even better mechanical robustness and readability in sunlight.
The capacitive touch displays are fully compatible with all iLCDs across the entire product line. The iLCDs with PCAP touch screens, like their resistive counterparts, feature the fast DPC3090 processor and 128 MByte of flash memory on board.
Setup, configuration and management of all PCAP functionality is easy with the iLCD Manager XE, demmel’s free IDE. Existing touch applications can be re-used without any modification when the standard single touch mode is activated.
