eMMC NANDrive™ embedded SSDs
The eMMC NANDrive™ family of embedded solid state drives (SSDs) combine Greenliant’s industrial grade embedded multimedia card (eMMC) NAND controller with NAND flash die for a fully integrated SSD in a multi-chip package
eMMC NANDrive supports the JEDEC eMMC 4.4 standard and is backward compatible with 4.3. While the JEDEC operating temperature range specification is -25 to +85 degrees Celsius, eMMC NANDrive operates at full industrial temperatures between -40 and +85 degrees Celsius, giving customers data storage that can withstand the most severe conditions.
Industrial temperature (-40 to +85 degrees Celsius) eMMC NANDrive is available with 2-bits-per-cell (MLC) or 1-bit-per-cell (SLC) NAND to meet varying customer requirements for lifespan, endurance and performance. Greenliant’s SLC NAND-based, industrial grade NANDrive products offer 10x the lifetime compared to typical MLC NAND SSDs and are qualified for the most demanding applications.
Measuring 14mm x 18mm, eMMC NANDrive is offered in a 100 ball grid array (BGA) package, with 1mm ball pitch for increased long-term reliability. Designed for rigorous automotive, industrial and networking environments, eMMC NANDrive is ideal for applications such as in-vehicle infotainment, routers and switches, and single-board computers.
NANDrive eliminates the need for long qualification cycles when there is a change of NAND flash technology; customers need only qualify the NANDrive as a mass storage subsystem.
The integrated NAND flash controller with built-in advanced NAND management firmware communicates with the host through the standard eMMC protocol. It does not require any additional or proprietary software such as the Flash File System (FFS).
NANDrive’s advanced NAND management technology enhances data security, improves endurance and accurately tracks the usage of the NAND flash. This innovative technology combines robust error correction capabilities with advanced wear-leveling algorithms and bad block management to extend the life of the product.
The enhanced features and small form factor of NANDrive give ultimate flexibility for data storage design—no extra connectors are needed. NANDrive is ideal for embedded applications that require secure, reliable and energy-efficient data storage.
GLS85VM eMMC NANDrive products are available from 512 MByte to 32 GByte (64 GByte and 128 GByte planned).
