UX Patterns for Embedded HMI
The UX of a product increasingly defines the purchase decision €” the interface always wins, in other words. Working with many different products over the years, we derived some common patterns of user experience that every embedded HMI should follow, with a special focus on touch HMIs. These patterns have been evaluated by us but are also backed by research from the whole UX community. These patterns span the domains of status/feedback, perception of speed, layout tips as well as wording and icons. The audience will take away concrete ideas on how to evaluate their own HMI and also how to directly improve it. Using these patterns, any HMI team member can make sure that their HMI at least doesn€™t harm the product €” and maybe even delight their users! With these UX patterns on their hand, any HMI team member can make sure their HMI follows validated guidelines that make the product usable and useful.
