Fully Automated Self-test and Calibration for Hardware in the Loop Test Systems
The accuracy of the system, as is usual for other measuring systems, must also be ensured. If, for example, analogue inputs and outputs are used for the simulation of sensor values or the measurement of currents, precise specifications are absolutely necessary, since for safety-critical functions there are usually exact requirements for error detection thresholds and error detection times. For the reasons mentioned above, it makes sense to add self-test functions to HIL test systems. The automated testing of all inputs and outputs of the HIL test system makes it possible to dispense with manual maintenance work. For the execution of the self-test it is necessary to integrate an independent measuring system and an independent signal source. Based on this automated self-test, it is also possible to carry out calibration and adjustment. With the approach described here, the integration of expensive measuring equipment into the test system can be dispensed with.
