Technica Engineering’s new hardware devices feature characteristics that differentiate them from regular Active Taps. Our Capture Modules fivefold group has been launched as the most innovative Automotive Ethernet ECUs testing solution, and it encapsulates Technica’s new generation of hardware devices.
Capture Modules’ functionalities cover the logging of traffic emitted by the ECU. Through their High Speed Startup, they store the Initial Startup Information, which would otherwise be lost due to the lower speed startup of other devices. Hence, all the Initial Startup Information is not lost, given to Capture Modules capability of storage.
Capture Modules offer a modular and scalable system, capturing all the relevant In-Vehicle-Traffic with a reliable and precise time stamp. Using 802.1AS, the time synchronization within the Capture Modules is ensured, and all captured traffic is provided in Layer II MAC frames via the PLP protocol, making Ethernet the ideal logging network. Also, they provide time aware injection.
The cascading and synchronization not only between Capture Modules but with other Technica’s devices is allowed, whenever more interfaces are needed. It widens the functionalities of the Capture Modules and smooths the effectiveness of In-Vehicle communication.
Capture Modules feature AVB/TSN compatibility, providing today’s self-driving prototype test cars the safest, fastest and most cost-efficient solutions. AVB stands for Audio Video Bridging, which brings the devices an audio and video system to foster in-vehicle security; and TSN stands for Time Sensitive Networking, and it ensures the provision of fast responses, under IEEE 802.1 group’s umbrella.
