ITX121010A is a very compact 2,5V solid-state micro-battery featuring a capacity of 100 µA.h. Battery dimensions are less than 3,2 x 2,5 x 2 mm.
ITX121010A is ia fast-rechargeable solid-state micro-battery delivered in the form of Surface Mounted Devices (SMD).
These micro-batteries are really compact and fit within a volume of # 10-15 mm3; we can easily customize their form factors by changing the area and the thickness of the battery which can be less than 330 µm if necessary.
What is probably unique in these micro-batteries is that they obviously behave like a battery at 2,5V but they are also able to deliver power and high peak currents, the same way as supercapacitors. ITX121010A is able to deliver peak currents of around 70 mA. This is more than enough to power a RF transmission under various protocols (Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc…)
This is due to the fact that all our micro-batteries have very low internal resistance; this also explains why these micro-batteries do recharge very quickly: 50% of the charge is reached after 40 to 60 second charging times and more than 75% in less than 5 minutes; they withstand more than 2000 cycles at 75% Depth of Discharge...
Their typical lifespan is more than 10 years with an operating temperature range up to -40°C +85°C
Because they are fully solid and do contain neither Lithium metal nor organic solvents , they are totally safe (no risk of explosion) and easy to recycle like any other SMD components.
Because they are SMD, they can be assembled in standard automated assembly lines (pick and place, reflow soldering).
These micro-batteries are typically used to back-up RTC, PLCs, microcontrollers and memories (DRAM/SRAM and SSDs) in case of failure or shutdown of the main power supply, to power autonomous and wireless sensor networks or mobile phone peripherals and to store the energy required to delete the content of secure memories in case of active tampering (even if not powered at the time of the physical attack).
They can be used in a lot of other applications:
To store energy collected from energy harvesters and deliver the required power to RF transmitters;
To power-assist primary batteries and deliver the power to boost any RF communication (Bluetooth, ISM, Zigbee and even LoRa and Sigfox)

ITEN’s charter is to manufacture fast-rechargeable solid-state micro-batteries in tiny SMD outlines which are pick-&-place and solder reflow compatible. They are the first micro-batteries to really behave as a battery for energy storage and as a supercapacitor to deliver power and pulse currents required by RF transmission (Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRA, Sigfox or Nb-IoT standards) of data delivered by an autonomous wireless sensor node to a gateway; all that in a footprint of a few millimeter square and in a volume of around 12mm3.
This is actually a breakthrough in the field of energy micro-storage for wearables, wireless sensor networks and smart cards applications.
Thanks to their small sizes and their high energy storage densities, ITEN micro-batteries are used specially in emergency power backup applications (RTC, microcontrollers, memories and SSD).
