NEW Ka-Ro TX6ULL Computer-on-Module with NXP i.MX 6ULL
Ka-Ro electronics TXULL is the newest member of the popular TXUL line, based on the NXP i.MX 6ULL processor. Featuring a single-core ARM Cortex A7 processor at speeds up to 792 MHz, the TXULL module is an ideal solution for IoT and industrial automation applications and provides an ideal upgrade to embedded devices currently using ARM9 processors.
The NXP i.MX 6ULL processors’ energy-efficient design means that the TXULL has the lowest power consumption in the Ka-Ro TXUL, line. The TXULL integrates the i.MX 6ULL processor, 512MB of DDR3 RAM and a 4GB eMMC Flash memory. The module also features TFT LCD interface, a camera interface and support for 8 UARTs.
In addition, the TXULL features:
Two 10/100 Ethernet ports
Two FlexCAN ports
Tow High-speed USB 2.0 ports
I2S,/SAI, I2C and SPI ports
3.3V I/O pins
The TXUL is available in industrial operating range of -25 to 85V as standard, and featuess guaranteed ong-term availability. The TXULL is available for 12 years from release, until at least 2030. The TXULL is part of the TX Family Concept, so it easy to interchange any TX module during development and production as needed to provide optimal performance and BOM cost.
The TXUL COM is designed and manufactured in Aachen Germany in Ka-Ro’s integrated engineering and production facility. In 2018, Ka-Ro celebrates 30 years of quality design and manufacturing.
Integrated Software Support
Ka-Ro’s software development team provides continuing development of Linux and Windows Embedded Board Support Packages (BSPs) for the TXULL. Continuing development means that developers can use the latest Linux kernel to start development – guaranteeing current updates, drivers and security patches. The current TXULL BSP is based on Linux 4.13, and Ka-Ro releases their BSP to mainline Linux, making it easy to use the latest tools and integrate all device drivers needed. In addition to the mainline Linux BSP, Ka-Ro provides support for the TXULL in Yocto Project.
Exclusive Microsoft Windows Embedded Support
Ka-Ro is the only source for a Windows Embedded Compact 7 BSP for the NXP i.MX 6UL and 6ULL processors. Supporting the TXUL and TXULL COMs, Ka-Ro’s Windows Embedded BSP provides a solution to extend the life of products developed with Microsoft Windows CE 6, which is rapidly approaching End-of-Life, and is no longer supported by Microsoft. By migrating existing application code to the TXULL, devices can stay in production until 2030, providing time to create a migration plan to other operating systems.
Only Ka-Ro provides a single source for hardware and software support for continuing Microsoft Windows Embedded development.

Family Concept – Ka-Ro TX COMs
All Ka-Ro’s TX modules conform to the TX Standard. Created in 2003, The TX Standard designates common pins for display interfaces, common industrial ports (serial, CAN, I2C, I/O etc.) TX modules can be easily interchanged, making it easy to upgrade performance or optimize BOM cost. Ka-Ro software BSPs make application code easily transferable as well.

Automated testing procedures are applied to each module produced, and a complete record is maintained in a permanent quality database. The foundation of Ka-Ro’s commitment to quality is ISO:9001 certification. First certified in 1995, Ka-Ro has maintained certification for over 20 years. When a Ka-Ro module is designed into a customer product, Ka-Ro’s quality processes ensure a trouble-free product lifetime. Ka-Ro will not substitute components, so a standard Bill of Material provides complete component traceability. If a component on the BOM is updated, customers receive a Product Change Notification notice, an opportunity to make a Last-Time Buy, and time test and certify the revised module. Ka-Ro will not ship revised hardware without prior customer approval.
Building on this foundation of proven quality, Ka-Ro has developed a deep expertise in COM design and software development. Experienced Ka-Ro engineers continue to develop new modules and the software support. These same engineers provide customers with technical support, providing customers the exact answer needed in the shortest time.
