Julius Pfrommer has studied Industrial Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the Grenoble Institute of Technology. Mr. Pfrommer is working on recent tasks in automation, necessitated by ever increasing requirements towards flexibility in production. Especially relevant for his work are decentralized, agent-based methods and their performance compared to centralized optimization via Advanced Planning & Scheduling. He is working at the Information Management and Production Control (ILT) department of Fraunhofer IOSB. He is one of the main contributors of the open62541 project that aims to provide an Open Source implementation of the OPC UA protocol stack.
